World Cup 2030 : Spain fears growing chaos !

Spain is starting to worry about the organization of the World Cup 2030, four years before the tournament kicks off. The competition, which will be co-hosted by Spain, Portugal and Morocco with opening matches in South America, was initially presented as a historic celebration marking the centenary of the tournament.

But the Spanish project is already showing signs of instability. Several cities that hoped to host matches now doubt their ability to finance the massive renovations required by FIFA, forcing local authorities to reconsider their ambitions.

Malaga first withdrew from the project after realizing the renovation of La Rosaleda would cost far more than expected. A Coruña followed months later, choosing to modernize the Riazor stadium without adapting it to FIFA’s strict standards. Meanwhile, other venues face uncertainty as inspections continue and financing questions persist.

While iconic stadiums such as those in Madrid or Barcelona appear safe, several candidate cities still struggle to meet the requirements. As Spain tries to stabilize its list of host venues, the growing doubts risk complicating the organization of a tournament already spread across three continents.
