The trial of several Senegalese supporters accused of hooliganism during the final of AFCON 2025 has been postponed shortly after it opened.
The Rabat Court of Appeal decided to delay the hearing following a request from the defense, which asked for more time to review and prepare the different case files. The supporters have been in custody since the final played on January 18.
The defendants face several charges, including violence against law enforcement, damaging sports equipment, pitch invasion and throwing projectiles during the match. All of them deny the accusations. Earlier in February, Moroccan courts had already handed down prison sentences to the group, ranging from three months to one year, depending on the severity of the alleged offenses.
