Michel Platini launches new attack on FIFA chief Infantino

Michel Platini has once again strongly criticized FIFA president Gianni Infantino, accusing him of lacking the qualities required to lead world football. Speaking on RMC Sport’s After Foot program, the former UEFA president said Infantino is more comfortable as an administrator than as a leader and questioned his political positioning and closeness to powerful figures.

Michel Platini suggested that the FIFA chief focuses too much on influential and wealthy circles rather than on the core values of the game.

The former France legend also revisited their complicated relationship, which has remained tense since the legal case that prevented Platini from running for the FIFA presidency in 2015. While acknowledging that Infantino worked effectively as UEFA’s general secretary in the past, Platini insisted that the role of president requires charisma and vision. He also implied that Infantino benefited from his legal troubles to reach the top of world football, deepening a rift that now appears impossible to repair.
