Ghana women’s national football team delivered an emphatic statement ahead of continental competition after sweeping the invitational Pink Ladies Cup with two commanding victories at Al Hamriya Sports Club Stadium.
The Black Queens recorded back-to-back 4-0 wins over Hong Kong women’s national football team and Russia women’s national football team, finishing the tournament with a perfect record. Ghana scored eight goals across the two matches and did not concede, highlighting a dominant display on both ends of the pitch.
Forward Doris Boaduwaa finished as the tournament’s top scorer with three goals to claim the Golden Boot, while goalkeeper Cynthia Findiib Konlan earned the Best Goalkeeper award after keeping two clean sheets during the competition.
Tournament organizers later confirmed Ghana as champions following the withdrawal of Tanzania women’s national football team due to instability in the Middle East, effectively sealing the title for the Black Queens.
The triumph provides a major confidence boost for Ghana as preparations intensify for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in July, with the team’s clinical performances already generating excitement among fans ahead of the continental showpiece.
