Andre Ayew: “I Chose NAC Breda for the Project and the Noise”

Andre Ayew has revealed that his decision to join NAC Breda was driven not by convenience, but by conviction.

The Ghana forward admitted he had several options on the table while spending time back home, where personal matters kept him occupied. Yet when it came to choosing his next destination, the 34 year old followed what he describes as a footballing instinct.

“When I was in Ghana, I was quite busy with personal stuff, and I had many options, but I chose NAC Breda because of the city and football project,” Ayew explained.

It is a statement that speaks to more than just a transfer. Ayew’s career has taken him across Europe and the Middle East, but his priorities remain consistent. Competitive football. A clear sporting vision. An atmosphere that fuels his intensity.

“I’m a footballer, and I always want to play at the highest level,” he said. “I’m a player who plays a lot with energy and loves clubs with stadiums that make noise.”

That appetite for charged environments has defined much of his journey, from major international tournaments with Ghana to high pressure club campaigns. At NAC Breda, he appears to see a project aligned with his mentality, one that values passion in the stands as much as performance on the pitch.

For Ayew, it is not about winding down a career. It is about staying immersed in the rhythm of the game. The noise of the crowd. The demands of competition. And above all, the pursuit of football played with purpose.
