Kenya Reaffirms Readiness to Co-Host AFCON 2027, Says FA President Hussein Mohammed

Kenya has reaffirmed its commitment to staging the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, with Football Kenya Federation President Hussein Mohammed declaring the country’s readiness to deliver the tournament alongside Uganda and Tanzania.

In a firm public statement, Mohammed sought to dispel any lingering uncertainty over preparations for the continental showpiece. “For the avoidance of any doubt, Kenya is ready to host AFCON 2027 alongside Uganda and Tanzania,” he posted, signaling confidence in the East African nation’s organizational plans.

The 2027 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, marking a historic moment for the region. It will be the first time the tournament is staged across three East African countries, a move widely seen as a catalyst for infrastructure development and deeper regional cooperation.

Kenya’s reassurance comes amid ongoing scrutiny over stadium upgrades, training facilities and logistical arrangements required to meet Confederation of African Football standards. Mohammed’s statement appears aimed at reinforcing belief among stakeholders and fans that preparations remain on track.
