Samir Nasri has strongly criticized the Confederation of African Football following its decision to strip Senegal of the AFCON 2025 title and award it to Morocco.
Speaking on Canal Champions Club, the former French international expressed his disbelief at the timing of the ruling, which came weeks after the final had already been played and celebrated.
Nasri questioned the logic behind such a delayed decision, highlighting the impact on Senegal’s players and fans. “If they had done it the same evening or the next day, we could understand, but now?” he said, before adding ironically, “Next time, will they do it in 2035?”
For him, the situation seriously damages the credibility of the Africa Cup of Nations, insisting that taking the trophy away after celebrations only reinforces doubts about the governance of African football.
