Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca have taken a firm stance over scheduling issues in the Botola Pro, announcing they will not begin the second half of the season until all clubs with outstanding matches complete their first-round fixtures. The decision highlights growing concerns about competitive fairness as the league campaign progresses.
According to reports from Morocco, several top clubs still have games in hand from the opening round of the championship. Rivals including Wydad Casablanca, AS FAR, and RS Berkane have so far played only 12 matches and must still complete three additional fixtures to finish their first-round schedule.
Raja’s position is rooted in concerns about maintaining a level playing field in the competition. Club officials believe allowing some teams to start the second phase of the league while others are still completing earlier matches could distort the standings and affect the integrity of the title race.
The situation has placed pressure on league organizers to resolve the fixture backlog and ensure all clubs are aligned in the schedule. With some teams involved in continental competitions and cup commitments, the calendar has become increasingly congested, leading to the current imbalance in matches played.
Raja’s stance has sparked debate across Moroccan football, with many observers now waiting to see how the league authorities will respond. The resolution could have significant implications for the remainder of the Botola Pro season and the battle for domestic supremacy in Morocco.
