Quelques semaines après avoir manqué la Coupe du monde 2026, Omar Artan a retrouvé le sourire. L’arbitre somalien a dirigé mercredi la Supercoupe d’Europe entre le Paris Saint-Germain et Aston Villa à Salzbourg. Une première sur la scène européenne pour l’officiel de 34 ans.
Après la rencontre remportée par le PSG, Omar Artan a laissé un message sur le ballon du match pour remercier l’UEFA de lui avoir offert cette opportunité. « Merci l’UEFA, vous avez vraiment rendu ma vie meilleure pour toujours. Ce match était ma Coupe du monde », a écrit l’arbitre somalien.
