Mario Balotelli denounces racist abuse in the United Arab Emirates

Mario Balotelli has spoken out after being the target of racist insults during a second-division match in the United Arab Emirates between Dubai and Al-Ettifaq.

In a story shared on his Instagram account, the Italian striker, formerly of Marseille, revealed that he endured repeated abuse from the stands throughout the game.

“Today, during a match, I was subjected to racist insults several times. I was repeatedly told: ‘Uh uh uh, go eat a banana,’” Balotelli wrote. He firmly condemned such behavior, insisting there is no place for racism in football or in society.

Speaking not only for himself but for all players who face similar abuse, Balotelli called for awareness and action, ending his message with a clear warning: enough is enough.
