CAF Investigates Yasser Ibrahim Over Post-Match Incident

Yasser Ibrahim could face disciplinary action from the Confederation of African Football following a tense moment after Al Ahly SC’s clash with Espérance Sportive de Tunis on Sunday.
Reports emerging after the match claim the defender made a provocative gesture toward sections of the Tunisian supporters as he left the pitch. According to witnesses, Ibrahim allegedly signaled toward the crowd while implying that the Egyptian giants would “finish them off in Cairo” during the return leg of the tie.

The situation reportedly escalated near the tunnel area where Ibrahim is also alleged to have pushed a stadium security officer while making his way off the field. The incident has drawn attention from officials and could form part of a disciplinary review by CAF.

Although no official sanction has yet been announced, the governing body typically takes a firm stance on player conduct toward fans and match officials, particularly in high-profile continental fixtures. Any confirmed breach of regulations could result in fines or a suspension ahead of the decisive second leg.

Al Ahly have not yet issued a formal statement regarding the allegations, while CAF is expected to examine match reports and available footage before deciding whether to open formal disciplinary proceedings against the Egyptian international.
