Al Hilal Omdurman Lodge CAF Complaint Over Controversial Officiating

Al Hilal Omdurman have formally submitted a complaint to the Confederation of African Football following their recent clash with RS Berkane, citing concerns over the performance of referee Abongile Tom.

In an official letter to CAF, the Sudanese giants alleged that the match official displayed bias throughout the encounter, pointing to a series of decisions they believe significantly influenced the outcome of the game. The club has called for a review of the officiating, insisting that key moments went against them.

Among the incidents highlighted were four yellow cards issued to Al Hilal players, which the club claims disrupted their rhythm and approach. They also raised concerns over a red card shown to defender Ebuela, describing the decision as harsh and questionable given the circumstances of the challenge.

The most contentious moment, according to Al Hilal, came late in the match when a penalty was awarded to RS Berkane. The decision, taken in the dying stages, ultimately proved decisive and has become central to the club’s protest.

Al Hilal confirmed that they have attached video evidence of all the disputed incidents as part of their submission to CAF. The governing body is now expected to review the complaint and determine whether any further action will be taken regarding the officiating of the match.
