NPFL: Kano Pillars Pocket N1.4m Bonus After Crucial Win Over Remo Stars

Kano Pillars have received a significant financial boost following their hard-fought victory over Remo Stars in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The Sai Masu Gida edged the Sky Blue Stars 1-0 in their Matchday 25 encounter at the Sani Abacha Stadium last Sunday.

Luis Dadong emerged the hero of the day, scoring the decisive goal that secured all three points for the four-time NPFL champions.

In recognition of the important win, the players were rewarded with a cash prize of ₦1.4 million.

The presentation was made by the Chairman of the Kano State House Committee on Sports, Kabiru Dahiru Sule, who reaffirmed the state’s commitment to restoring the club’s former glory.

“We want Kano Pillars to return to where it belongs.

“We have lived too long on past glory, and now is the time to rebuild and rebrand the club to a higher level,” Sule stated while addressing the team.

The victory provided a timely morale boost for Mohammed Babaganaru’s side, who are battling to climb out of the lower end of the table.

Kano Pillars currently sit 17th on the NPFL standings with 28 points, just one point ahead of their next opponents, Kwara United, who occupy 18th position with 27 points.

Attention now shifts to Ilorin, where Pillars will face Kwara United in what promises to be a crucial fixture in the fight to avoid relegation.

With both teams separated by just a point, the encounter could have significant implications for their survival hopes in the ongoing NPFL season.
