Bayelsa United have officially confirmed the arrival of six new players as part of efforts to reinforce the squad ahead of the decisive closing stages of the second stanza of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The Restoration Boys completed the signing of two players from Calabar Rovers — Ettah Ekoi and Okim Divine Okim — in a move aimed at boosting their depth and competitiveness as the campaign enters a critical phase.
In addition to the duo from Calabar Rovers, Bayelsa United secured the services of Otunuya Kennedy from Godswill Akpabio United, Nasidi Abdulrasak Danladi from Kebbi FC, and Stephen Ikechi Wisdom from Akwa United.
The club also promoted promising youngster Kenus Godswill from their feeder team, underlining their commitment to youth development.
The recruitment drive reflects the club’s determination to strengthen key departments as they battle to finish the season strongly.
Head Coach Meremu Okara had earlier revealed that the attacking line was identified as the major area requiring reinforcement during the mid-season transfer window.
“We identified the attacking department as a priority, so we brought in three attackers,” Okara explained.
“We also signed an attacking midfielder and a defender, and promoted one player from the youth team to add more balance and competition within the squad.”
The strategic additions are expected to inject fresh energy into the team as Bayelsa United push for improved results in the final stretch of the NPFL season.
With the league reaching a crucial stage, the Restoration Boys will be hoping the new arrivals make an immediate impact in their quest for a strong finish.
