Jonathan Sowah Denies Allegations from Simba Sports Club, Calls for Swift Resolution

Ghanaian forward Jonathan Sowah has publicly responded to a series of allegations made by Simba Sports Club, firmly denying any wrongdoing and urging the Tanzanian giants to resolve the matter quickly so he can continue his career.

In a detailed response addressing several disciplinary claims, Sowah rejected accusations that he refused to participate in a training session ahead of Simba’s match against Greenland FC on 17 February. According to the striker, he completed the required activation workout despite being suspended and therefore ineligible to train with the squad on the pitch or take part in the match. He added that a team trainer later permitted him to leave after finishing the session.

Sowah also clarified an incident regarding a “top-up” training session on 22 February. The Ghanaian explained that confusion surrounding the session resulted from logistical issues, including a delayed team bus and the absence of his training kit. He stated that the training was eventually completed at the team hotel with teammates and the club’s physical trainer, noting that video evidence exists to support his account.

Addressing claims that he arrived late to training on 16 February, Sowah admitted he was approximately five minutes late after accidentally oversleeping following a video analysis session. He maintained that he immediately informed the coaching staff and insisted the delay was unintentional.

However, the former Medeama SC forward strongly rejected allegations of being late to team meetings, stating categorically that such claims are untrue.

Sowah also dismissed accusations related to a kit policy breach during a trip to Angola, where he was alleged to have worn a SL Benfica jersey. The striker insisted he wore the official Simba SC kit, adding that the club’s own social media content can verify his claim.

Responding to accusations that he committed “unusual fouls” during matches, Sowah said his tackles were normal competitive challenges rather than deliberate attempts to injure opponents or force a sending-off.

The striker also strongly denied rumors that he had received money from rival clubs Young Africans S.C. and Singida Black Stars. He described the bribery claims as false and damaging, calling on Simba to investigate the matter thoroughly and publicly clarify the situation.

Despite the controversy, Sowah reaffirmed his commitment to Simba Sports Club and appealed for the club to either lift his suspension or conduct a prompt disciplinary hearing.

The Ghanaian forward says he is eager to resolve the dispute and return to focusing on his football career.
