Jordan Ayew has declared that Ghana national football team will not travel to the 2026 FIFA World Cup merely to make up the numbers, insisting the team intends to make a strong impression on the global stage.
The Black Stars captain stressed that Ghana’s ambition goes beyond participation when they head to the tournament set to be hosted in the United States, Canada and Mexico. According to Ayew, the team is determined to perform at a high level and deliver results that reflect the nation’s football pedigree.
“We are going to the World Cup to give our very best. We want to put on a show and, hopefully, achieve the results we are aiming for,” Ayew said. “We are not just going to the USA to make up the numbers.”
Ghana will be aiming to reassert its presence among football’s elite on the biggest stage, with Ayew emphasizing the importance of preparation, belief, and unity within the squad as they pursue a memorable campaign at the tournament.
