South Sudan FA conduct CAF B-Licensing course

he South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) Safeguarding Department, led by Senior Safeguarding Officer Milcah Modong, conducted a vital awareness session today for coaches enrolled in the CAF B-Licensing course. This initiative highlights the Federation’s commitment to creating a secure environment for athletes across the nation.

Milcah Modong emphasized that while a formal policy is still being drafted, awareness is the essential first step in protecting young talent. “Safeguarding is not just a suspicion; it’s a prevention,” she stated, noting that coaches carry a moral responsibility to protect dreams rather than destroy them. The session urged coaches to maintain professional boundaries, avoid isolated one-on-one situations, and prioritize the interests of children.

Participating coaches expressed strong support for the training. Sony Harriet Alfred, making history as a female coach in the CAF B-Licensing program, noted the session’s impact on her ability to protect her female team.

Similarly, Coach Marial Andrew Okoma from Rumbek highlighted how this knowledge will help him manage his staff and safeguard female athletes at the grassroots level. Coach Edward Kosta added that understanding boundaries is crucial for professional coaching.

This workshop ensures that as South Sudanese football grows, its coaches act as guardians, fostering a safe and motivating atmosphere for the future stars of the game.
