With less than two weeks before the AFCON 2027 qualifier against Burundi, the Chadian Football Federation is facing a complete deadlock.
Due to the authorities failure to disburse the necessary funds, the organization of the match has been paralyzed, posing a serious threat to the national team’s participation.
Faced with this persistent financial deadlock, sports officials are now considering the radical option of declaring a forfeit.
This decision, although painful from a sporting point of view, would paradoxically aim to anticipate the crisis in an attempt to avoid even heavier disciplinary and financial sanctions that CAF could impose in the event of a last-minute withdrawal.
