Mighty Wanderers FC Head Coach Bob Mpinganjira says the arrival of forward Lameck Mithi at Lali Lubani Road will strengthen his attacking options ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Speaking after unveiling the Malawi Under-20 forward, Mpinganjira expressed confidence that Mithi has what it takes to contribute meaningfully to the team’s success.
“It’s a good signing. I have watched him play, and I’m convinced he will add value to the squad. He is young and fits perfectly within our sustainability plans,” said Mpinganjira.
When asked why he continues to add depth to his attacking lineup, the Nomads’ tactician said there is nothing wrong with increasing options since “a lot happens in football; injuries, bookings, sicknesses” referring to some of difficult moments he endured in the just-ended season with his squad.
On his part, Mithi described joining Wanderers as a dream come true.
“I started my career with Vuwa Academy Under-14, then joined Ascent Academy before moving to Moyale Barracks. Now, just a year later, I have signed for a big club like Wanderers, it’s truly a dream come true. I hope to work hard and go beyond Malawi,” he said.
In his remarks, Chief Executive Officer Panganeni Ndovi said signing new players is part of the club’s normal pre-season routine.
“As a club, we need to strengthen our squad, especially considering we will be competing in several local and continental competitions. Also, some players have left the club, so replacements are necessary,” Ndovi explained.
Lameck Mithi becomes Wanderers’ latest signing ahead of the 2026/27 season. The Malawi Under-20 forward featured in ten games during his debut season with Moyale Barracks, scoring ten goals and providing two assists
